Second-hand shopping tips for Palma – luxury edition
Second-hand shopping is booming in my favourite island Majorca’s capital – Palma! Here are my top tips for shops where you can find everything from budget to luxury clothes and classic designer brands.
Secondhand First Brand
What?
Luxury! If you're looking for a glamorous evening dress or great basics like jeans and top-quality cashmere sweaters, this little treasure is for you. You'll find designer brands such as Moschino, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent, Marchesa and more. Prices are in the upper price range, but on the other hand, high-quality clothes last a LONG time.
Who?
The shop is run by former model Christine Boes (she's over 70 years old and still stunning). With an exclusive circle of friends in Monaco, chances are you'll hit the dance floor in a tulle number recently worn by a guest at the Casino de Monte-Carlo.

La Simo Vintage
What?
Everything from designer labels such as Burberry, Prada, Versace and Gucci to bargains from Spanish chains. The clothes are up to about twenty years old maximum. New meets retro in a delightful mix.
Who?
Owner Fabrizio runs the shop in the center of Palma with his wife, Simona (hence the name). He is a true pioneer of second-hand shopping, having started his first business in Palma thirty years ago. They value having personal relationships with their customers, and most of their customers are regulars.

Tip!
Take your time sorting through the clothes. At first glance, it might look a bit messy, but with a bit of patience you can find unique pieces from lesser-known brands at budget prices.
Seattle Vintage Store
What?
Head here if you're a fan of laid-back nineties grunge with a touch of the American Wild West. You'll find cool vintage t-shirts and lots of jeans in good condition. They also stock Hawaiian shirts and two own-brands – Bonvivant (handmade handbags in a mix of leather and African fabrics), and t-shirt brand Drifter Soul, inspired by vintage American t-shirts from the eighties and nineties.

Carlota Llompart and Javi Taltavull opened the shop 13 years ago.

What?
Are you a Louis Vuitton fan? Then this shop is for you. It sells an exclusive selection of shoes and accessories from well-known designer brands such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Chanel, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Valentino, Celine, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana.
Who?
The shop, which is located in the hip Santa Catalina neighbourhood, is run by its founder, Alisa Augustin. After a 15-year career at Louis Vuitton in Germany, Alisa has built up a mostly German clientele – and a keen eye for spotting good-quality accessories.

Villa Vintage offers a curated selection of high-quality designer second-hand clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories. The shop is run by Angela Kholodny, a fashion enthusiast originally from New York who has curated this collection for 15 years. Angela personally selects each piece to ensure it meets the boutique's high standards. Villa Vintage is perfect for those who appreciate unique, high-quality clothing and accessories. The boutique is known for its dresses made from natural fabrics like cotton, linen, and silk, and a selection of leather jackets and coats for the cooler months. The staff ensure each piece is authentic and in pristine condition.
